Rebecca G. Sanchez went home to be with the Lord on August 21st, 2013 at the age of 81. While her children and grandchildren gathered by her side to sing her favorite songs of praise, the Angels came and lovingly carried her away. Rebecca was a faithful woman of God for 63 years, while always nurturing her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with deep devotion.
Rebecca was faithfully married to the love of her life, Luis Sanchez Sr., for 40 years. She leaves behind nine children: MaryEllen Perlingos, Luis Sanchez Jr. (Gloria) Margaret Valverde (Isaac), Gloria Sanchez, Esteban Sanchez (Pam), Norma Meintasis (Robert), Patricia Sanchez, Larry Sanchez (Lorraine), and Rebecca Arellano (Ivan). In addition, she is survived by her younger sister, Roseann Suniga (Joe). Rebecca is lovingly remembered by her 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rebecca was born in Glendale, Arizona on March 16th, 1932 and later became a permanent resident of Oxnard.
Rebecca enjoyed reading, cooking for family gatherings, singing hymns, loved her Yorkshire Terrier companion, Samson Blue, and expressed a deep rooted love and appreciation for her Jewish roots. Her favorite subjects were History, Social Studies, Math, Politics and Bible Prophecy.

A home-going celebration will be held at United Pentecostal Church of Oxnard, located at 700 E Pleasant Valley Rd, on Tuesday, August 27th at 6:30 p.m.Committal and interment officiated by Reverend John Cameron, will subsequently take place the following morning, Wednesday, August 28th at 11 a.m., at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura, California.
