1987
2010
Robert James Musgrove, born Sept. 18, 1987, was taken to the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ on Nov. 6, 2010. The life plan our God designs for us sometimes eludes understanding, but it was His will and in His presence "RJ" is smiling down to his family and friends. We love you RJ and you will always be in our hearts and thoughts.
He joins his grandfather, Robert F. Musgrove; grandmother, Mary Nelson; and aunt, Joan Musgrove, in Glory and Peace forever. RJ is survived by his mother and father, Sandy and Robert A. Musgrove; his sister, Briana; brother, Andrew, fianc Samantha Michaelson and her daughter Natalee Vasquez; grandmothers, Mary Musgrove and Sumiko Soper; grandfather, James Nelson; uncles, Randy Musgrove, Brian Musgrove, Dave Musgrove, Patrick Musgrove, Danny Musgrove, David Nelson, Scott Nelson; aunts, Liz Emerick, Patty Saunders, Rachael Gehringer, Peggy Stuckert, Susan Hawkins, Janice Hinokuchi, Karen Yewell and their spouses; 25 cousins and 15 second cousins.
Being from a large family, RJ was very proud of his Osage Indian, Japanese and Norwegian heritage. His brother and sister knew him as being compassionate, loving, empathetic, fun and full of life. His smile was a gift to those who knew him. RJ and his mother and father enjoyed many years together at Northside Little League, in which his father coached him from T-Ball through Juniors. RJ was an excellent team player and accumulated many All-Star honors and trophies.
RJ had a love for many sports teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, St. Louis Rams and specifically, the Los Angeles Dodgers. Watching sports on TV with his dad, brother, sister and friends was one of the things he loved to do most. RJ, along with his brother Andrew and father Robby, loved to attend the Dodger games in LA and their Spring Training Camp in Phoenix, Ariz., and had planned to go again next year. Although RJ never had the chance to see the Dodgers win the World Series, somehow we think the Dodgers have an edge now with our angel RJ on their side.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that any donations be made to the RJ Musgrove Memorial Fund by contacting Briana Musgrove at 805-816-1709.
Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14 at Reardon Funeral Home located at 511 North "A" Street in Oxnard. Funeral mass service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday Nov. 15 at Santa Clara Church located at 323 South "E" Street in Oxnard. A Life Celebration and reception will be held at the Musgrove home following services.

Robbie, I think Sharon and I were 5 when you were born. RJ and Sharon will always be with us. Sharon would tell me everyday of my life... "Suzy, love doesn't go anywhere" It's so true!!! I do know that neither one of them would be happy knowing they devastated our lives so I just try to show her everyday that I'm OK. He's with your Dad and Sharon is with Alice and Joe. I find peace there. Love and light all over you and your family Robbie.

Robby, Sandy, Brianna and RJ - You have been on my mind and in my prayers constantly. From one parent to another, there is no more painful loss than that of a child. I believe God has already set people in place to help you now and further down the road in your grief journey. Please know we are ALL here to support you, lean on us, reach out to us, for when we help you, we are helping ourselves as well.
The follwoing was shared with us when we first lost Erick, it comforted us then and continues to comfort me even more now. I hope it does the same for you.
The Reunion Heart
Since Heaven has become your home
We sometimes feel we’re so alone;
and though we now are far apart
you hold a big piece of our hearts.
We never knew how much we’d grieve
when it was time for you to leave,
or just how much our hearts would ache
from that one fragment you would take.
God lets this tender hole remain
reminding us we’ll meet again,
and one day all the pain will cease
when He restores this missing piece.
He’ll turn to joy, our every tear
with thoughts of you we hold so dear,
and they’ll become our special way
to treasure our Reunion Day.
Keep your memories of RJ close to heart and find comfort in them.
1 Corinthians 13:13 reads: Three things will last forever--faith, hope, and love--and the greatest of these is love!
Your love for RJ and all he meant will live on forever as will the love he had for you.
May God continue to surround you, comfort you and bring you strength and finally peace througout this journey.
My deepest condolences,
Damon Locke
