Robert Savala Ortega, Fillmore High School Hall of Fame Inductee Robert, 64, passed away peacefully after a courageous struggle with cancer at his home with his children and family by his side on December 28th, 2010 in Camarillo.
He was born on December 3rd, 1946 in Oxnard, Ca. to Angel Raymond Ortega and Lucille Savala Ortega. Robert planted his roots in Piru as a boy and spread his wings into manhood in Fillmore. After a life threatening accident, Robert discovered Therapy in Personal Training and had been doing so for the past 19 years, living in Garden City Kansas for the past 7 years. Robert loved to laugh, loved being outside, loved his friends and family, enjoyed movies, music, hunting and loving on his Grandkids. He was a simple man with big dreams.
We will miss and always remember his humor, his stories, his love and kindness. Never to be out done, Robert was one of a kind.

I met Bob several years ago; and, while he started out as a personal trainer to me at Coyote's, he quickly became my friend. I miss him dearly. His friendship and sense of humor are what I will always remember the most. I just want to let his family know that he often spoke of you all and always with love and pride.

I am very fortunate to have met Bob when I was in Garden City. He is an inspiration to me and he always will be. Bob left a lasting impact on my life by his genuine caring for those around him, his kindness, his dedication to helping others, his fun personality, his loving character. I will miss you Bob, but I will never forget you. Not too often do we have the privilege of meeting someone who touches our lives so dearly they will remain in our hearts forever.

I met Bob in Garden City, KS. He was the head trainer at Coyotes Family Fitness. Everytime my family entered the gym we got a smile, a high-five or a good 'ol pat on the back. He always had a positive outlook on life. My family & I are so sad to hear of his passing. He will be missed!

I was so sad to hear this....He was a Great man, and he trained me very well in Garden City. I have health problems and could not do a lot of the machines but he encouraged me and worked with. I could not have continued, without his help I would have given up... My sympathy goes out to your Family!
