Rolland Rork Obituary

Rolland R. Rork, 99, of Oxnard, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 at Glenwood Care Center. Rolland was born June 5, 1911 in North Vernon, Ind.; he was a resident of Ventura County for 56 years.

Rolland serviced in WWII in Belgium from 1943-1945 as a Technician 4th Class in the Army. Rolland then worked for the American Consulate in Belgium for three years. Rolland worked for the IRS for 32 years as an agent. He was involved with Masonic, enjoyed music (sang in church choir for 50 years) and loved to travel.

Rolland was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha; sister, Helen; brothers, Loren, Oren (twins), Donald, Lea.

Memorial donations to be made: Gideon's International, Thousand Oaks Camp, P.O. Box 1303, Thousand Oaks, CA 91358-1303. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29 at FDA Conrad-Reardon Mortuary, 401 W. Channel Islands Blvd., Oxnard, CA 93033.

Memorial service to be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 30 at Grace Bible Church, 936 W. 5th St., Oxnard, CA 93030. Burial to follow at Conejo Mountain Cemetery.

Rolland is survived by his brother, Walter Rork of Lafayette, Ind.; sister, Betty L. Coombs of Atlanta, Ga.; numerous nieces and nephews.

The Rork family arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Funeraria Del Angel Conrad-Reardon Mortuary, 401 W. Channel Islands Blvd., Oxnard; 487-4911.
