Mr. Nevitt was my 5th grade teacher at Walnut School during the 1969 school year. He was a great role model and inspiration to all of us kids. I've never forgotten him. In fact my sister and I were just talking about him during Christmas. I was so lucky to have him as my Teacher. What a GREAT man!..........Scott Gove

I am sure Wayland was an inspiration and a great role model for all his students. He was the kind of person you instantly liked, the first time you met him. I know Wayland will be missed by his family and loved ones, but he is in a better place now, with no pain. Our prayers are for those that loved Wayland and that the Lord strengthens them during this period of time. None of us really lose those we love, as their memory has a special place in our hearts.
Don Chandler, a friend of Wayland.

My husband Wayne drove with Wayland. He always enjoyed being paired up with him for the drives, because of his kind and patient demeanor and willingness to share interesting bits & pieces of his knowledge. I was lucky to have been included in a few weekend breakfasts with "the guys", and always found him to be a gentleman & a scholar! We both consider it an honor to have known such a fine man.
