Blanca Corazon Montiel

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved angel, Blanca Corazon Montiel. Our "Cocolitos" left this earth to be reunited with our Heavenly Father on March 20, 2014.

Blanca was born on December 22, 1995 to Antonio Zavala Montiel and Avelina Perez-Hernandez and was a life-long resident of Santa Paula. Blanca attended McKevett and Barbara Webster Elementary Schools, Isbell Middle School, Renaissance High School, and was preparing to graduate with the Santa Paula High School Class of 2014. Blanca was in the process of completing a dental assistant internship through Santa Paula High School's Regional Occupational Program. Blanca also worked part-time at Carl's Jr.

Blanca was full of life and leaves us with many beautiful memories. She loved treating her family to breakfast and trips to the mall. She loved hanging out at the beach, Disneyland, Taco Bell, shopping with friends, and a good party. She loved make-up, Hello-Kitty, and basically anything pink and "girly." She had recently discovered a passion for playing the piano.

In Blanca's unique way, she was a true role model and inspiration to her younger brothers and sisters. Given her life's circumstance, she proved that through hard work and dedication, anything worth aspiring towards is within reach.

"You left an imprint on me, and no matter what there is nothing that will ever erase that." -Blanca Montiel

Blanca is preceded in death by her grandparents J. Carmen Montiel, Raul Perez and Consuelo Hernandez.

Blanca is survived by her parents Antonio Zavala Montiel and Avelina Perez-Hernandez; brothers Carmen Antonio, Noel, William, Ryan, and Anthony; and sisters Anais and Kaylee. Blanca is also survived by her grandmother Maria Natividad Zavala; uncles Fernando (Lorena), Jose Luis (Sara), Everardo (Mireya), Rodolfo (Olivia), Jose Natividad (Matilde), Jesus (Norma), and Juan (Julia); aunts Lidia (Antonio), Veronica (Javier), Gloria (J. Trinidad), Maria Elena (Everardo), and Rosalinda (Eloy); and numerous cousins.

On behalf of the Montiel and Perez-Hernandez family, we would like to extend our sincere and heart-felt gratitude to the students, faculty and staff of Santa Paula High School, the Community of Santa Paula and friends of Blanca for their overwhelming show of love and support through this very difficult time.

A visitation will be held from 12noon to 6:30pm with a rosary to be recited at 7pm on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Life Way Baptist Church, 673 W Santa Paula St, Santa Paula, CA 93060. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on March 27, 2014, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 427 North Oak Street, in Santa Paula, with Father Charles Lueras, C.R.I.C. officiating. Committal and Interment will follow at Santa Paula Cemetery.
