KIRKLAND – Margaret E. (Aves) Butler, 91, of rural Kirkland, Ill., died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at the same home she was born in, with her twins, Bubby and Sissy by her side. |
Born Wednesday, March 9, 1921, in Kirkland, to Floyd and Anna (Harms) Aves, she graduated from Kirkland High School in 1939.
Margaret married Melvin Butler on March 20, 1941, at Court Street Methodist Church in Rockford. She enjoyed working with small children at the Fairdale School. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to crochet, go to garage sales, mowing the grass on her farm, painting outdoors, playing bingo and going for rides.
Margaret is survived by one son, Dorian Butler of Kirkland; two daughters, Karon (Jerry) Bell of Florissant, Colo., and Doreen (Rick) Butz of Kirkland; six grandchildren, Jeff, Kelly, Tina, Timmy, Trixie and Brianna; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren, and one on the way. She also is survived by one brother, Glenn Aves of Kirkland; one nephew; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Anna Aves; her husband, Melvin; one sister, Lillian Nordin; one brother, Earl Aves; and one great-grandson.
The family wishes to express deepest appreciation to Dr. Tom Michaelsen and staff and to DeKalb County Hospice for their kindness, gratitude and many hugs.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Olson Funeral and Cremation Services Ltd., Quiram Kirkland Chapel, with Pastor Kyeong-Ah Woo officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn cemetery near Creston.
