SOMONAUK – Ramona (Butler) Early, 91, of Somonauk, Ill., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Sandwich Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. |
Born April 8, 1921, in Hinckley, the daughter of Henry and Florence (Martin) Kastler, she married Lawrence Butler on Sept. 5, 1948, and after his passing, Ramona married Warren M. Early on Aug. 12, 1989, in Uniontown, Pa.
Ramona was a member of Union Congregational Church of Somonauk, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed working at the Sandwich Fair in the horticulture and arts and crafts buildings for more than 36 years. She loved painting and was considered quite the artist. She also enjoyed sewing and craft work.
She is survived by her husband, Warren of Somonauk; three daughters, Julie Kaye Butler of Scottsdale, Ariz., Joyce (Marty) Hospodavis of Uniontown and Coleen Chatee of Bowie, Md.; three sons – Chris Butler, who married Nancy Geuther, and their three children: Brian Butler who married Michelle Johnson, and Holly Miller and Susan Rebholz – Richard (Robin) Early of Charlotte N.C. and Alan (Connie) Early of Uniontown; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Lawrence; and two sisters, Ruth Nelson and Doris Lockwood.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home, 13160 W. Route 34 in Somonauk, with Pastor Michelle Prentice Leslie officiating. Burial will follow at Little Indian Creek Cemetery in Leland. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the funeral home in Somonauk.
