GENOA – Gerald Lee "Jerry" Glawe, 78, of Genoa, Ill., passed away on June 26, 2013, with his family by his side.|
Born May 23, 1935, in Kirkland, the son of Ralph and Avis Glawe, he married Beatrice Dundore on June 8, 1957.
He was a graduate of Kirkland High School, and received his degree from Northern Illinois University in 1957. Jerry served six years in the Illinois National Guard. He retired as corporate treasurer from Duplex Products of Sycamore after working there nearly 35 years. In retirement, Jerry enjoyed golfing, traveling, working in his yard and time spent with his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Beatrice Glawe; two children, Julia Glawe of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Steven Glawe (wife Rebecca) of Frankfort; two grandchildren, Jarod and Sara Glawe; sister-in-law, Marilyn Myers and her husband, Jim Myers of Wellsville, Pa.; niece, Jeanna Snyder (husband Brian); nephew, Michael Myers; grand-nephew, Derek Myers; and grand-niece, Lindsay Snyder.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, July 26, at Sycamore United Methodist Church, 160 Johnson Ave., Sycamore, IL 60178, with visitation beginning at 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family.
