Bruce Wayne Darling Bruce Wayne Darling 65, formerly of Tulare passed away in Prescott, AZ on June 11, 2013. He was born March 6, 1948, in Lafayette, Ind. Bruce, one of six children born to Melvin and Alice Darling, graduated from La Puente High School in La Puente, California. Bruce then joined the United States Navy
, serving in Vietnam. Afterward, Bruce returned to Southern California where he met his wife-to-be, Linda Colgate. Married in 1970, the couple moved to Lafayette, where Bruce became a police officer
for the City of Lafayette. In 1979, the couple, along with two children, returned to California and settled in Tulare. Bruce continued his law enforcement service as a police officer for the City of Tulare before moving on to become an investigator for the District Attorney of Kings County. In 2005, Bruce retired from Kings County and he and his wife moved to Prescott. While in Prescott, Bruce worked as a bailiff for the Yavapai County Court. Bruce was best known for his infectious smile and his desire to make other people laugh. He had a deep love for all things family and often stated his favorite moments were those spent with his wife, children and grandchildren all together. Bruce was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Fresno State Bulldogs and loved to attend games whenever possible. Bruce is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda Darling; son Scott Darling; daughter Stacy Miller and son-in-law John Miller; brothers Max, Charles and Clifford Darling; sister Lori Hart; and five grandchildren, Megan and Chase Taylor, Tyler Miller, and Danielle and Allison Darling. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Hanford Square Eights Hall in Hanford, on July 6th, 2013 at 3:00 p.m.
