Daniel Vincent Dudley February 6, 1936 - March 27, 2014 Dan Dudley was born on February 6, 1936 to Howard Dudley and his wife Mary Gilogly Dudley, in Washington D.C. He was the youngest of seven children, 5 brothers, 1 sister. Guilford Dudley - deceased, and wife Madeline resides in Long Beach, Ca. John Dudley - deceased, and wife Beverly resides in Victorville, Ca. Patricia Lane (Dudley) Shidmore and husband Dan reside in Los Angeles, Ca. Robert Dudley and wife Loris reside in Moscow, Idaho. Richard Dudley resides in Selma, Ca., wife Martha deceased. George Dudley and wife Mary reside in Turlock, Ca. Dan leaves his wife Sharon of Lemon Cove, four adult children, Amy of Grand Canyon, Az., Randy of Lemon Cove, Kelly of Visalia, and Heidi of Lemon Cove, one daughter-in-law Annette of Visalia, and two grandchildren, Jordan of Hayward, Ca., and Kelsey of Visalia, and many nieces and nephews. Before coming to Woodlake, Dan taught school in Frederick, Co., for 2 years and then worked in Culver City, Ca., for 2 years while going to school in Northridge, obtaining a teaching credential. He then worked in Simi Valley for 5 years, all levels, before moving to Woodlake in 1967-68 where he taught at Woodlake Junior High School until 1999. He was a PE teacher and coach (volleyball, basketball, soccer and baseball/ softball) at the junior high, as well as some coaching in the high school, basketball and tennis. He also umpired high school baseball in Tulare County and played in various tennis tournaments in the area. He continued to substitute and coach after retiring in 1999. Dan loved all sports and was himself a star athlete at Mark Keppel High School in Alhambra in the 1950s. He loved his job, his students, co-workers, and the Woodlake School and community where he spent so much of his life and was dedicated to them all. A Celebration of his life and memorial service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Woodlake Presbyterian Church at 10:00 am. All are welcome!
