Dorothy Jane Spencer

Dorothy Jane Spencer December 1, 1925-November 23, 2012 Dorothy Jane Spencer, of Lake Forest, California, passed away on November 23, 2012 at the age of 86 after an extended illness. Her friends knew her as "Jane". She lived her entire life in California. She graduated from San Leandro High School and married at age 18 to James Harvey Trimble, with whom she had two daughters, Kathleen Laurel Scott and Susan Jane Borges. Her second marriage to George Spencer produced a son, Casey Edward Spencer. Her three children, who reside in Visalia, CA, Lemoore, CA, and Meadow Vista, CA respectively, survive her. Both her husbands predeceased her. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Tim Scott, Linda Grasse, Melanie Spencer, Peter Spencer, Jamae Tasker, Jim Moore, Courtney Ewing and Reggie Moore, and by 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her companion of 16 years, Peter Lisalda. She worked at a variety of jobs in her lifetime but the one she enjoyed the most was being the director of a nursery school, which brought out her creativity and organizational skills. She had many interests including painting, writing country-western songs under the name D.J., reading quality literature and mystery stories, movies, and travel. She had a wry sense of humor, a wonderful talent for order and beauty, and was very generous to all she knew. She will be missed by all! A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Spiritual Awareness Center, located at 117 South Locust Street, Visalia, CA on December 15, 2012, at 5 p.m.
