Elizabeth Wilcox Elizabeth Wilcox died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in Visalia, Ca. She was born Jessie Elizabeth Woodard in Tahlequah, Ok on July 25, 1924 to Nell E and Jesse E. Woodard. She attended schools in Tahlequah and was in North Eastern State college when WWII broke out. She left school and went to work for the F.B.I. in Washington, DC. She also worked at the Navy Mine Test Station on Chesapeake Bay, MD. While there, she met and married Herbert W. Moise who was a member of the US Navy Band. Elizabeth and Herbert had four sons, Herb III, Gene, Mark and Kim. Elizabeth and Herbert divorced and years later she married Chan Wilcox, a Visalia area rancher. She and Chan lived on a ranch north of Visalia and later retired to Three Rivers. She was small in stature, but large in courage and ambition. Her boys may have been bigger and stronger, but there was never a question as to who was in charge. She took to ranch life as if she'd done it all her life and she and Chan took many trips, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Elizabeth had a real zest for life. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her older sister Jean Marie. Survivors include, niece Frosty Jan, her four sons: Herb III, Gene, Mark and Kim, as well as two stepsons John and Alan Wilcox. A memorial service will be held on March 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Three Rivers Presbyterian Church, to be followed by a gathering with refreshments at the Church's Harrison Hall.
