Frank Giomi

Frank John Giomi Retired Firefighter Frank John Giomi, 91 of Visalia passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013. Frank was born in South Dos Palos, California on December 16, 1921. His parents, Aurelio and Fernanda (Pierini) Giomi were both immigrants from Lucca, Italy. After Pearl Harbor, Frank joined the Navy and served on the aircraft carrier USS Copahee. At the end of the war, Frank married his beloved wife Joyce Gaza. Frank was a retired Visalia firefighter. After retiring from the fire department he worked as a crossing guard at Washington Elementary School for 27 years. He enjoyed woodworking and in his later years he turned to making many kinds of birdhouses for friends and family. Frank also found much joy being a long-time member of the Visalia Sons of Italy. He will be greatly missed! Frank was preceded in death by his parents; sister Rosemary and wife Joyce. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Price of Clovis; grandchildren Christopher Price and wife Christina of Aachen, Germany, Kelly Lange and husband Nathan of Clovis and Anthony Price of Santa Cruz, and great-grandchildren; Brody and Sophie Lange and Cole and Chloe Price. Frank is also survived of his brother Dewey and sister-in-law Evelyn Giomi of Fresno. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest remembrances/donations be made to the organization of their choice. Memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel. Private burial. Condolences may be e-mailed to
