Gene Lane

Gene Lane Gene Lane, 77, of Visalia, California passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014. Gene was born in Price, Utah to loving parents, Elvey Kirk and Edith Luella Lane. He came to Visalia, California as a teenager and was raised and educated in Visalia schools. At the age of 19, Gene joined the United States Navy in 1955. He met and married Kazuko Otani in November of1958 while in Yokohama, Japan and together established a home in Visalia. Following his discharge from the Navy, Gene worked at Gang Nails Truss Company while he attended electrician's school. He then worked for A/C Electric in Visalia and Turnupseed Electric in Tulare from which he retired. Gene was a metal craftsman and enjoyed the challenge of his projects. His wife, Kazuko, passed away in 2003, and his brother Jack Lane and sister, Fern Stott also preceded him in death. Gene is survived by his daughter, Lori Lane; his son Lany Lane and wife, Phyllis; two grandsons Leo Lane and Lucas Lane; two sisters, Doris Wilcox of Santa Rosa, CA and Connie Lane of Alamogordo, NM. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014 from 11 - 1 p.m. with Memorial Services following at 1 p.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia, CA.
