John Carl Corley 10-6-41 to 12-15-13 John Carl Corley born October 6, 1941 in Tulare, CA to John and Lera Corley, passed away after a short illness on December 15, 2013 in Exeter, CA surrounded by his family. Carl, as most knew him by, was raised in the Waukena, Ca area and graduated from Tulare Union High School in 1960. Carl married his wife of 50 years, Joan Neeley on May 11, 1963. He joined the fire department as a volunteer fireman in 1957 and served in Tulare and Exeter for over 50 years. During his time with the fire department he was instrumental in obtaining the land where Tulare County built Station 25 on Paige in Tulare, CA. He also was instrumental in purchasing the first thermal imaging camera in Tulare County. Carl was very involved in whatever community he lived in. He was the President of the Volunteer Chiefs Association, Board of Directors of Exeter District Ambulance for many years and helped save the District that is still operating to date and past member of the Exeter Lion's Club. He received the Heritage Award from the Exeter Chamber of Commerce with his best friend Mike Sherer for their service to the community of Exeter. Carl enjoyed his grandchildren and going to their many activities. He would tell each one that he is their biggest fan and supporter. Carl is survived by his wife Joan Corley of Exeter, daughters Lori Trowbridge (Pete), Carla Johnson (Rusty) and Roxanne Harlien (Paul) all of Visalia. Five granddaughters Kelci, Breanne, Emily, Hunter, Taylor and one grandson Tyler. He was very proud of his only great-granddaughter Payeton. Viewing is on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Smith Family Chapel in Exeter. Graveside services are to be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Exeter District Cemetery and followed by a Celebration of Life at Parkside Chapel in Visalia, CA. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, Children's Hospital of Central California or the donor's favorite charity.
