Joyce Belle Cox Joyce Belle Cox, 81 of Visalia, California passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in Visalia, California. Joyce was born in Rocklin, California on May 8, 1931 to Jesse and Clara (Judy) Carmichael. She attended grammar school in Rocklin, California. Her family moved to Three Rivers, California in 1946 and she attended Woodlake High School where she was involved in band and drama. Joyce graduated from Woodlake High School with the class of 1949. On November 11, 1950 she married Jess E. Cox in Three Rivers, California. They made their home in Visalia for 62 years. Joyce worked for the Welfare Department for a short time. She was the Charter President of the PTA at Fairview Elementary where she also worked as a Teacher's Aide. Joyce's greatest enjoyment was her family and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader and had enjoyed crocheting and baking. Joyce also enjoyed going to the Casinos. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Clara and her sister, Marge. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Jess of Visalia; three children: Kathy Cox-Johnston of Visalia, Bill Cox and wife, Pam of Visalia and Jesse Cox and wife, Falisha of Tulare; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kaweah Delta Hospice, 900 W.
