Julia Somawang

Julia Moreno Somawang Julia Moreno Somawang was born in 1926 to Rafael and Gregoria Martinez Moreno in Dodge City, Kansas. On January 17, 2013, her Lord called her home. Julia was preceded in death by her husband of 52 y ears, Antonio Ramos Somawang and daughter, Baby Magdalena. Julia lived in Orosi for over 65 years, where she farmed with her husband Tony. In 1970 she worked at Orosi Unified school District as an instructional aide for 20 years until she retired. Julia and Tony's enjoyment was watching their sons football games, and planning family luaus. She loved to watch EWTN, sewing, embroidering, gardening and continued to be very active by completing 1,0000 piece puzzles. On her last birthday, December 5, 2012, she planned her own special birthday party and invited many of her close friends to share in her celebration. She will be remembered by many as a vibrant and fun loving person who enjoyed life to its fullest. Julia leaves behind six sons, Lonnie Somawang, Richard Somawang, Larry Somawang, Joey Somawang, Gene Somawang and Mark Somawang; two daughters, Linda Paez and Sandy Stone; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Church in Cutler and burial at Smith Mountain Cemetery in Dinuba.
