Lewis Sinift

Lewis Sinift Lewis Dean Sinift went to be with Jesus on January 11, 2013. Dean was born to Ed and Fern Sinift on November 12, 1924 in Cambria, Iowa. He grew up there along with his three older siblings, Darrel, Louise and Mary Jo. In 1942, the family moved to Culver City, California where Dean worked at North American Aviation Corporation. Later, he and his dad operated a machine shop in Corcoran and after that, built the "Y" Machine Shop in Tulare, which they ran together until Ed retired. Dean then began his thirty-five year career with Tri Ex Tower Corporation, where he was a foreman and used his love and talent for welding. He retired in 1991, but still continued welding and building. He loved his tools and spent much time making things needed around his home, for his kids, and his grandkids. He also contributed much to Wayside Church of the Nazarene, where he was a member for many years, as well as head usher and janitor. He did the metal work for the fence around the church also. On April 18, 1953, Dean married Clara McGavern. They raised four children here in Tulare. Dean and Clara would have been married 60 years in April, and their unfading commitment and love for each other is a powerful example and inspiration for many. Dean was a man with a big heart and just as big a smile and twinkle in his eye. He loved his family more than anything and was the sunshine in their lives. He will also be remembered for his sense of humor, which never went away, even in his last days. He leaves his wonderful legacy with his wife, Clara; their four children and spouses: Gary Sinift and Deanna, Jerry Sinift and Carolyn, Lynn Sinift Lenz and Cory, and Cindy Sinift Villa and Frank; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren (plus one more due in August!); sisters and brothers-in-law: Janetta and Wendell Land, Novella and Gary Fletcher, Millie Sinift; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 12-7 pm, Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel. Memorial services will be at 11 am, Friday, January 18, 2013 at Tulare Wayside Church of the Nazarene. Condolences may be emailed to peerslorentzen@clearwire.net.
