Amelia Rocha Toste July 8, 1924 - March 12, 2013 Born in Manteca, California to Domingos and Amelia Rocha. Amelia was one of four children. She was very proud of being an American citizen. At age 3 the family returned back to Terceira Azores until she married Joe Ancieto Toste and returned to America. Preceded in death is her husband Joe Ancieto Toste, sisters Candida Contente, Maria Barcellos and her brother Manuel Rocha, son-in-law Joe Costa and nephews Tony Contente and Jose Manuel Rocha. Amelia is survived by daughter Tina Andre and son in law Joe of Tulare, daughter Mary Andre and son in law Manuel of Merced. Granddaughter Christine Perales and husband Robert, granddaughter Cindy Gist and husband Marrs. Her precious great grandchildren Vanessa and Derrick Perales, Coultin and Chastine Gist and great-great granddaughter Jaidyn Soares all of Tulare. Sister-in-laws Paulina Rocha of San Jose and Welimina "Dolly" Toste of Tipton. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and family time which was always first with our Vizi. She instilled family values to all of us and the family has many fond memories that will last a lifetime. The family would like to thank Judy Borges Mendonca for taking care of her and her dedication. Also, the family would like to thank Dr. Kumar and staff for their genuine concern and nursing staff at Twin Oaks for their tender loving care. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home, 151 North "H" Street, Tulare, Ca. Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 125 East Pleasant Avenue, Tulare, Ca., with burial at Tulare District Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Miller's Tulare Funeral Home.
