Bernice Mary Theys Bernice Mary Theys passed away peacefully on January 4, 2013 at the age of 99. Mary was born in Americus, Kansas on February 22, 1913. She was the youngest of 10 children born to John and Persia White. She graduated from Emporia High School in 1930 and married Olman Theys on New Year's Day 1939. They moved to California in 1945 and settled in Corcoran where Olman operated the Shell Service Station for 16 years. They moved to Three Rivers in 1963 where they became very active in the Three Rivers Community Presbyterian Church. Mary served as a deacon and worked in many other positions in the church. Mary and Olman loved to attend the High Sierra Jazz dances. They enjoyed playing a weekly game of Yahtzee with friends. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 53 years. She is survived by many nieces and nephews: Glenda Cole of Providence, Utah, Ermajene Milliken of Topeka, Kansas, Ronald Moore of Americus, Kansas, Archie Ames of Anaheim, California, Shirley Bentley, Russell White of Emporia, Kansas, Margo Tressler of Visalia, California and Allison Bettencourt of Penn Valley, California. Mary lived at Park Visalia Assisted Living for the last seven years. She will be greatly missed by many friends whose lives she brightened with her beautiful smile and loving heart. There will be a memorial service held at Park Visalia Assisted Living, 3939 W. Walnut, Visalia on January 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
