Christine Tiesiera Christine Tiesiera was born on November 30, 1910 to Manual and Ludvina Gasper in Kauai, Hi. Christine peacefully departed this life on July 31, 2012 in Tulare, Ca at the age of 101. She was married to Alfred Tiesiera for 75 years at the time of his death in 2001. Early on, Christine worked as a floor lady at a cannery in Oakland, Ca. She then spent 10 years in the accounting department of Montgomery Wards. She was gifted with masterful crocheting and sewing skills and later opened a children's clothing store in San Leandro. After retiring in the 1970s, Christine and Alfred moved to Palm Springs where they enjoyed the beautiful weather, gardening, walking and playing cards with friends. Christine is survived by her son, Will Tiesiera and his wife Clarice of Tulare. She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Randy (Sue) Tiesiera of Murphys; Kris (Tom) Walker of Martinez; Ann (Jim) Parrish of Dayton, Oh; Lonnie (Laurie) Tiesiera of Tulare; Becky (John) Xepolias of Pleasant Hill; twelve great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. She will be remembered by her large and loving family as a great cook and the grandma who loved baseball. A private family service will be held at noon on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Sterling & Smith Funeral Chapel in Tulare. Christine will be laid to rest next to Alfred near Palm Springs, Ca.
