Cory John Chapman Cory John Chapman of Visalia, California passed away on July 19, 2012 at the age of 31, surrounded by his loving family. He passed away from complication of cancer treatments. Cory was born in Lindsay, California on October 3, 1980 to John and Thea Chapman. He was raised and educated in Lindsay and Porterville, attending West Putnam Elementary, Bartlett Middle School and Monache High School. While at Monache High, Cory was a member of the Monache Marauder Football Team, playing Offensive Line & Defensive End, receiving the high honor of "EYL All Star" his senior year; he then went on to further his education through College of Sequoias. On May 22, 2010 Cory and Debrah Mabon were married and made their home in Visalia. He went on to attend Richard A. McGee Correctional Academy in Galt and was currently working at Corcoran State Prison as a Correctional Officer. Cory had a great sense of humor and loving personality. He enjoyed spending time with his family and their dog, Presley. He also enjoyed taking family trips to Morro Bay, playing his guitar and basketball. Cory's most cherished roles in life were, being a devoted husband, a great father to their four boys: Shawn (10), Braeden (9), Ethan (4) and Cameron (1) and a loving son and brother. His entire family was the core of his strength. Cory will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Cory leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife and children; his mother Thea of Porterville; his father John of Lindsay, his sister, Kristie Luppi and husband Rod of Rocklin, CA, his grandfather, Kenneth "Jim" Chapman of Lindsay; his mother and father-in-law, Kent and Carolyn Mabon of Porterville; fourteen loving nieces and nephews, his aunts, uncles, cousins, sister and brother-in-laws, and his many many friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia, CA. Burial will follow at Visalia District Cemetery.
