Durk Sybesma Owner Operator Durk Sybesma, 91 years young, went to meet his Lord and Savior on October 27, 2012. Durk was born on May 15, 1921. He grew up in Hynes (now Paramount), CA. Durk was the eldest of 9 children. At an early age of 19 years, Durk found himself in a position of great responsibility; having to help his mom raise his 8 fellow siblings due to the unexpected loss of his father. Durk was a highly energized individual despite his fused hip at the age of 17 years from a bicycle accident. He was known as an honest, caring, and faithful person. Durk pursued a successful career as a Salesman in the dairy industry, acquiring ownership of Ezell Sales, Inc. (60 years). Other notable achievements were his membership with Rotary International Service (50 years) and his Lifetime Membership of the Christian Reformed Church. Durk is preceded in death by his grandson David Knol, and by siblings Ben Sybesma, Bill Sybesma, and Wilma VanderVeen. Durk is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Anne (Stoepker) Sybesma. Also by his siblings: Richard Sybesma, Charles Sybesma, Helen Schilder, Anne Dykema, and Sam Sybesma. He was the father of Faye and Harry Knol, Charles and Laurie Sybesma, Arnold and Mary Sybesma, and Jennifer and Gary Boyd. He was grandfather to Jared and Jenny Knol, Rachel and John Van Wylen, Andrew Sybesma, Michael and Anneka Sybesma, Jayson Sybesma, Kara Sybesma, Brianna Sybesma and fiancé Camon Bailey, and Karissa Sybesma. He was also the great grandfather of Emmeline Van Wylen. Memorial contributions (making mention of Durk Sybesma) may be made to Rehoboth Christian School, PO Box 41, Rehoboth NM 87322 and to Sierra Village, 1 Molenstraat, Visalia CA. A funeral service will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 at Visalia First Christian Reformed Church at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Private burial.
