Dwight Dias Dwight Dias, age 68, and a long time resident of Albuquerque passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. He was born on May 11, 1945. He is survived by his mother Dora (Andy) Yocum of Hanford, California; son Doug Dias and wife Melissa their children Kyle and Matthew of Tulare, California and daughter Arin Dias of Albuquerque, NM. Dwight was preceded in death by his father Eddie (Edwin) Dias and his brother Johnny Dias. He was an veteran who earned a BA degree and became a licensed substance abuse counselor with a commitment and passion for helping others find Recovery. He was instrumental in developing and implementing the first Sobering Service program in ABQ and the establishment of the full services Bernalillo County Metropolitan Assessment Treatment Services (MATS) program on Zuni S.E., that has helped thousands of individuals and families with substance abuse and co-occurring problems. His children were his greatest source of pride and joy. Seeing them together forging stronger bonds for the future gave him great comfort. His memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 3:00 PM at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 5301 Ponderosa Ave N.E. Honorary Pallbearers: Team Dias
