Ellen H. Henzler Life is but a flicker which burns briefly before it is extinguished, and a new, great life begins….for death is the destiny of every man. And so it is with a mixture of joy, that suffering has ended, and sorrow at our loss, that the family of Ellen Henzler announces that she is now in the loving arms of her Maker. She passed away quietly after a short illness on March 16, 2013 surrounded by her loving husband, daughter and family. She is survived by her husband John Henzler, her daughter Gail Boyle, both of Visalia, and her grandsons John Boyle and friend Cosetta of Fresno and Scott (Amy) Boyle and great granddaughters Ella and Scarlett of Visalia, niece Stephanie Aitoro of Carlsbad, CA and nephew Warren Droms of Oceanside, CA. Born to August and Emma Dettbarn in Baltimore, MD in 1928, she spent her youth in Schenectady, NY and moved to La Jolla, CA in 1956. She married John Henzler in 1982 and their retirement years were spent in Visalia having moved here in 1997. Ellen enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was known for her ability to encourage and inspire others. She joined the Kaweah Delta Hospital Guild in 1998 and later became a life member working the gift shop, oncology workshop and Pillow Pals. Throughout Ellen's life she and John enjoyed traveling whether it was in their motorhome or taking cruises. For many years they spent the summers sailing to Catalina Island in their yacht.
