Elma E. Gatewood Elma E. Gatewood, beloved wife and mother and grandmother, of Visalia went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2012, at the age of 86. She is survived by her husband, Henry L. Gatewood, of over sixty years of marriage whom was by her side when she passed into the hands of our Lord. Elma was employed for twenty years by the United States Military as a civil servant in Sacramento where her family spent many years moving to Visalia in 1992 to retire. Elma was an exceptional woman who raised seven children, took care of foster children and enjoyed her many grandchildren. She was a vivacious woman who commanded your attention from the moment she walked into a room with her larger than life personality and ability to entertain. Elma was an accomplished pianist who in her younger years performed in many famous venues as well as intimate family gatherings spreading her love of music. Although this phenomenal woman will be tremendously missed by her family they find peace in knowing that she is in heaven with her Lord Jesus. A graveside service will be held at 1:15 on Monday, December 10th 2012 at the Bakersfield National Cemetery, Bakersfield, CA. Condolences may be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
