Elsie Dorothy (Valine) Hylton On July 9, 2014 Elsie Dorothy (Valine) Hylton went to be with her Lord and Savior in Tulare at the age of 96. She was born to Manuel and Carolina Valine in Traver, California on March 5th, 1918. The family moved to Woodville, California in the early 1920's. She went to Woodville Elementary School, and graduated from Tulare Union High School in 1937. Elsie went to work for Lindsay Olive plant. In 1945 went to work for Kraft's Foods in Tulare, and in 1955 she went to work for Dairyman's Creamery in Tulare as a lab technician. In the 70's she studied to obtain a lab technician license which she was one of five woman to acquire the certificate in the United States for testing dairy products, retiring in 1980 after 35 years of service. Elsie was an amazing seamsters, she sewed for many of her friends including her children and grandchildren and for great grandchildren, also she made gowns for the Portuguese fiesta celebrations. Elsie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friends to many. After retiring Elsie and her husband enjoyed traveling and visiting their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Anthony Ferreira in 1945, her second husband Byron Hylton of 60 years, in April 2013. Her grandson Mark Malone in 2005. Her brothers Joe and Clarence Valine, and sisters Mary Valine and Olivia Dores. She is survived by her daughters Sharon (Leon) Hall, Buena Park, Linda (Sammy) Malone, Visalia, Debbie (Darrell) Estus, Visalia, 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren, Godchildren Eleanor Gomes, Tulare, Geraldine Lopes (Visalia) and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Tulare Nursing and Rehab for taking such loving care of our mother. On Sunday, July 20, visitations will be between 3:00-7:00pm with St Aloysius Alter Society Rosary at 4:00pm and recitation of the Rosary at 6pm at Millers Funeral Home, 151 North "H" Street, Tulare, CA. Mass of resurrection will be held on Monday, July 21 at 1:30pm at St. Aloysius Catholic Church 125 E. Pleasant Ave Tulare, CA. with burial at Tulare District Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Millers Tulare Funeral Home.
