Fern Marie Wilson Fern Wilson was born January 23, 1931, in Cheyenne Wyoming to Robert Earl and Vesta Edna Simpson. As a child Fern moved with her family to Woodlake where she attended school. She married and moved to Ivanhoe where she raised her family. Fern worked at Anita's Dress Shop, George Zarounian Automotive, and Sears. She also tended bar for many years at several establishments and enjoyed a great many longtime friendships with her customers. As a young woman Fern loved dancing and was a member of the Ivanhoe Dance Club. Also, in her younger years, she enjoyed sewing her own clothes. Later, Fern loved to shop for clothes and was always a smart dresser. She had a passion for working in her garden-growing both flowers and vegetables. Fern also enjoyed gathering collectibles. Her greatest pleasure, however, came from the loving relationships she had with her family and friends. This last December 30th Fern publicly professed her faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at Sierra Baptist Church of Visalia. Fern went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, January 30, following a brief illness. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wilson, and by her son, Randy Edgmon. Fern is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kyla and Tom Stevens, of Ceres; Her daughter and son-in-law, Tana and Mike Bennett, of Visalia; Her daughter-in-law Barbara Edgmon of Montana; Her five grandchildren-Bryce, Kelley, Sara, Morgan, and Chad; Her seven great grandchildren-Clay, Camryn, Jessica, Macy, Cyra, Cayja, and Tegan; and by her dear friends Billy Whelan and Barbie Mays A Memorial service will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel at 10a.m. Private burial.
