Harold S. King Harold Stacy King, 85, peacefully went to be with the Lord Sunday February 10th. Harold was born December 23, 1927 in McCloud, Oklahoma. At the age of 14, Harold and his family migrated to the Central Valley. He attended high school in Visalia. Harold served in the Navy's Construction Battalion (CB's) during World War II, receiving an Honorable Discharge. Harold is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Doris (Gerry) King who passed away in June 2011. Harold worked in the construction and building industries, first at Rich Brothers Lumber Company, and then at Sequoia Forest Industries. He became a licensed contractor building homes in the Visalia and Porterville areas. Harold and Gerry were committed Christians actively involved in their church and missionary work. They traveled extensively both in and out of the United States repairing and building churches. Harold is survived by four children and five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Family members include Judy Cunningham of Three Rivers, Penny Lewis of Visalia, Sandra and Frank Cochrane of Sandy Valley NV, and Mike and Karen King of Tulare. Grandchildren include Stacy Penner of Visalia, Kristen Johnson of Phoenix AZ, Michael and Christopher King of Tulare and Julie Cunningham of Three Rivers. Graveside burial will be held at Visalia District Cemetery Friday, February 15th 2013 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers can be made to Sierra Baptist Church 1437 West Walnut Ave. Visalia, CA 92392.
