Harry Davidian

Forever a farmer, Harry Davidian was born on April 23, 1927 to Agavnie and Giragos Davidian in Visalia, California. He entered eternal life at the age of 82 on April 3 surrounded by family and friends. He was raised in Monson where he attended Monson Elementary. After starting Dinuba School, Harry decided to leave school to work on the family farm. In 1946 he joined the US Army where he served as a medic. Harry married the "love of his life" Laura Balakian in 1948. They raised three daughters, Janice, Phyllis, and Becky. His girls were the pride and joy of his life. Harry and his partner George Zarounian started Zee & Dee packing in 1962. . They grew, packed, and shipped vine-ripped tomatoes for 41 years. His happiest years were with his family, his growers, and his workers in the tomato business. He extended his farming to include tree fruit and grapes. In 1969 Harry and George became partners with Ted Balestreri and Bert Cutino and formed the Foursome Development Company in Monterey, California. Harry loved his church and his community. He was an active member of the St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church in Yettem. He was a member of the Triple X Fraternity of California, Sequoia Chapter for 60 years as well as numerous clubs and organizations in the community. Harry was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother, John Davidian,and his grandson, Chad Tellian. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Laura. Daughters: Janice McWilliams and husband Rich, Phyllis Borba and husband Alan, Becky Akin and husband Jeff. Grandchildren: Shawna Kneeland and husband David, Marc McWilliams and wife Juliana, Jared Tellian and wife Kelsie, Justin Tellian, Gina Ananian and husband Darren, Chad Borba and wife Kristin, Kayla Swift and husband Jon, Sarah Ainley, Paige Ainley, Josh Akin, Tyler Akin. Great-grandchildren: Audreena Ananian, Lauren Kneeland, Grace Tellian, MaKenna McWilliams, and Blake Tellian. His sister: Hosanna Noroian, eight Godchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and countless friends. Visitation will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 from 3pm until 7pm. A Home Service will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 6:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 11:30am at St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church of Yettem. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary Armenian Church: P.O.
