James Charles "JC" Brooks James Charles "JC" Brooks, 79, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013. He was born in Tampa Florida on December 6, 1933 to Everett and Lula Brooks. JC proudly enlisted in the US Air Force in 1953 and served in the Korean War. After his Honorable Discharge from the Air Force in 1957, he returned to his hometown of Tulare, California where he worked and retired as a Butter Maker at Dairyman's. JC was a member of the Teamsters Local Union #517 and held the Secretary-Treasurer position from 1987 to 1990. In addition to being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, JC enjoyed motorcycle riding, camping, dancing, and spending time with those he loved and cherished. He is survived by his beloved wife Jeanne Brooks, son Anthony Brooks, daughter Karen Conley and two sisters, Eloise Williams and Lottie Wilkins, 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Everett and Lula Brooks. A viewing will be held between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm, Friday, March 8, 2013 at Sterling & Smith Funeral Home, 409 N. K Street, Tulare, California. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:00 am at Living Christ Church, 2516 N. M Street, Tulare, California.
