Jean Handel Jean Handel passed away on March 29, 2013. She was 86. Jean was born in Glendale, CA in 1926 to Douglas and Muriel Fisher. She met and married George Handel in 1948 in Arizona. They moved to San Francisco area in 1958 before moving to Visalia in 1965. She was a housewife and involved in school activities while her kids grew up. In 1973 she and a partner decided to open a craft boutique Heavenly Hatchery until 1980 when they decided to close and she went to work for her son Handel's Furniture Refinishing until 1996. Jean and George moved into a Country Manor mobile home park and soon became managers. She loved to work out in the park and common area and do the decorating for different occasions. After George passed she went on to be assist manager, as we called her at the park (Gopher Extraordinaire). She retired in 2006. She had a love for life and loved to travel. She was able to travel all over the world and see different countries. Preceded in death by her husband George which she shared 49 years in 1997, her oldest son Doug in 1974 and youngest son Greg in 1996. She is survived by one daughter Debbie Handel, 6 grandchildren, Brandon Handel, Christina Handel, Kendra Handel Rivas (husband Jose) Jarod, Megan and Paige Handel. 4 beautiful great grandchildren, Robert, Gregory, Jazmyne, and Gauge. Memorial Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 12, at 11:00am at the Visalia Cemetery. Arrangements by Miller Memorial Chapel.
