Joanne J. Howland Joanne J. Howland passed away on December 25, 2012, after short stay at Kaweah Delta Hospital. Joanne was born on February 13, 1936 in Grand Forks, North Dakota and was the only child of Fred and Ruth Lang. After high school, she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, went to college and then met Jerrold L. Howland. They married on September 8, 1956. While in Minnesota, they had three children and in 1964 they packed up and moved to California. After arriving in California, they ultimately settled and loved living in Visalia, California. Joanne was a "stay at home" Mom to three very active children. She made sure that she attended all of her children's sports events, community activities and school functions. When her children were old enough, she went to work at Kaweah Delta Hospital and was there for 35 years until her retirement. Joanne was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Ruth Lang and in 1996 her husband Jerrold Howland. She is survived by her three children, Tracy Herzog of Madera, CA; Jeff Howland and his wife Patty, of Brookfield, Wisconsin and Kristi Jones of Visalia, CA. She has six grandchildren Delrich Jones Jr. of Tulare, Chasity Jones of Tulare; Danielle Herzog of Madera; Alex, Elise and Stephanie Howland of Brookfield, Wisconsin. She has one great grandson, Evan Griffith of Tulare, CA. Joanne loved her family and would always be there to listen and support their decisions. She loved and looked forward to her Lottery Parties, Bunco club, Fresno Fair Horse racing and attending any activities with her family. We will all miss her quiet and calm personality and loving support. She will now be in the comforting arms of our Lord and Savior. There will be a Celebration of her Life on Sunday, January 6th, 2013 at 2704 W. Dorothea, Visalia, CA 12:00-4:00 pm for all friends and family. Services entrusted to Hadley-Marcom Funeral Chapel-Visalia, CA.
