John Wayne Cody John Wayne Cody, 69, of Tulare passed away on Friday November 30, 2012. He was born in Tulare on December 7, 1942. John was the only son and middle child to John Cody and Lelia Stockton. He made Tulare his home for the past 30 years. John is survived by his sister, Linda Cody of Tulare, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his older sister Annette. After graduating from high school in Norwalk, California John entered the Air Force and served during the time of the Vietnam War. The majority of his career following his military service was in the construction industry. In retirement he enjoyed woodworking, playing with his dogs, and watching Fresno State Bulldog football. John was also a mentor to many and was loved for his dry wit. A devout Christian, John volunteered much of his free time at a number of local organizations. He was known throughout the Tulare and Visalia community as being passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need. He was responsible for improving the lives of countless people. John was a wonderful brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by his family and by friends who loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to AmVets. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday December 6th 2012 at The Spiritual Awareness Center located at 117 Locust in Visalia. Private burial.
