John Diaz Villegas John Diaz Villegas, 94 of Visalia, California passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in Visalia, California surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Woodlake, California on June 24, 1918 to Pete and Antonia Villegas. He was raised and educated in Woodlake, attending Redwood High School in Visalia. John married the love of his life, Nicolasa Negrete on November 22, 1938 in Visalia, California and they celebrated seventy four years of marriage. Nicolasa preceded John in death on Friday, September 7, 2012. John was an independent labor contractor for over twenty years and worked last as a Cement Batcher for Visalia Concrete and Pipe for over twenty years. John and Nicolasa enjoyed going to the coast in their younger years. He was an avid reader, enjoyed working outdoors and in his garage. John especially enjoyed times spent with his family. His grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him great joy. John was also preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Antonia, his two beloved daughters, Mary Lee Martinez and Ellen Lopez; two brothers, David Villegas and Bonifasio Villegas; one sister, Stefanie Guerrero and three grandsons: John Garcia, Robert Garcia and Erby Lopez Jr. John leaves to cherish his memory, his loving daughter, Sally Diaz and husband, Daniel of Porterville, CA; five brothers: Marion of Washington, Raymond and wife, Carrie of Modesto, CA, Manuel and wife, Anita of Woodlake, CA, Philip and wife, Nan of Merced, CA and one sister, Antonia of New Mexico; nine grandchildren, forty eight great grandchildren and his extended family and friends. Graveside services will be held for John and Nicolasa on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 11 am at the Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia, CA.
