John Edward Negrete, Jr. John Edward Negrete, Jr., age 55 of Visalia, CA was born February 20, 1958, and passed on to our Lord on June 20, 2013. John was born and raised in Visalia, attending Fairview Elementary School, Green Acres Middle School, Redwood High School and COS. As a graduate of Redwood High School, Class of 1976, he played 4 years of Varsity Football, and 4 years of Varsity Wrestling. He was an outstanding athlete. His accomplishments include All American and MVP of Redwood High Football. He was also an outstanding wrestler, where he was co-Captain of the wrestling team, and he placed 3rd in State Wrestling. He also wrestled and played COS football, and was a part of the 1976 & 1977 Valley Conference Champion team. John loved helping others. He was a kind man of many talents, including painting, cement finisher, mechanic, (especially Volkswagens), woodworking and a handyman. He had a compassion for his family and friends, always willing to help and support in any way. John is preceded in death by his sister Irene Negrete Sloan and a brother-in-law, Larry Sloan. He is survived by his loving parents, John D. and Stella Negrete; his loving sister, Patsy Negrete Ikeno; his son Tyler Negrete; his nieces and nephews: Heather Sloan, Christine and Gary McGee, Jonathan, Jeffrey (Tasha) and Jennifer Ikeno. John will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. Memorial services will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be held immediately following. Tributes and condolences may be made at www.miller chapel.com.
