John "Jay" Perryman John Jay Perryman was born August 13, 1923 to John and Susie Perryman near Eton, Arkansas. Jay went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 31, 2013 in Tulare at the age of 89. He married Ruth Nanney on September, 21, 1942 and they shared their life together, working hard and taking care of their family. Jay served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1943. In 1945 they moved to California and Jay was a farm laborer for various valley farmers. In 1969 he and his sons started a commercial crop harvesting business and continued until retirement. Jay was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; son, Richard; granddaughter, Mary; great granddaughter, Jessica and son-in-law, Walter. He is survived by his loving and gracious wife of 70 years, Ruth and children: Charles "Sonny" (Alberta), Tommy (Shirley), Glenda, Gayland (Gwenda), eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren. Jay attended the First Southern Baptist Church in Tipton. The Perryman family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Tulare Nursing And Rehabilitation Center for their loving care as well as Dr. Chiu. Viewing will be from 12-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel, Tulare. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 7, 2013 at the Tipton-PIxley Cemetery, Ave. 144 & Rd. 104, Tipton.
