Josie Rodriguez Josie Rodriguez was born in Cutler, CA, on August 26, 1920, and passed away in Visalia, CA, on August 1, 2012. She was the daughter of Nicolas and Elpida Aguliar. She attended Cutler Elementary School and graduated from Orosi High School in l939. On February of 1942, she married Pete Rodriguez. She raised her five sons: Nick, Robert, Richard, Pete, and Thomas, with unfailing love. Josie was a tireless person who helped with the cooking at Rodriguez's Restaurant and later managed a Labor Camp. She cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week for forty men. In 1958, she and her husband, Pete, purchased a small ranch just outside of Reedley. Josie did much of the farming chores, i.e. disking and watering. In 1968, she became the fiscal secretary for Finance and Thrift in Reedley, retiring 18 years later in l986. The first of her 10 grand-children was born in 1966 and in 1993, she was blessed with the birth of the first of her 16 great-grandchildren. All of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her much happiness, since she viewed her family as her greatest joy! She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; her parents, Nicholas and Elpida; her sisters, Mary and Serifina; and her brother, Leo. Josie is survived by her sisters, Isabel and Gloria. Visitation will be held at Dopkins Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine's Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Smith Mountain Cemetery.
