June R. Hammond Homemaker June R. Hammond passed away peacefully on November 1, 2012, at the age of 91. She had been a resident of Visalia for the past 27 years. June is survived by her daughter, Sharon H. Hatherley and son-in-law Dale J. Hatherley, her grandchildren, Michelle L. Hatherley-Parr and Michael H. Hatherley, her great-grandchildren, Brennan L. Parr, Morgan E. Parr, Cameron J. Parr, and Logan J. Hatherley, and her niece, Bonnie Bowers. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, George L. Hammond, and her granddaughter Lara M. Hatherley. June and George were born in Fairmont, West Virginia. Due to George's dedicated service in the United States Navy for 20 years, they lived all over the United States, finally settling in San Diego, California. They moved to Visalia, California in 1985 to be near their daughter, Sharon, and their grandchildren, and remained there continuously until passing. While living in Visalia, June was a dedicated homemaker, mother, and grandmother. June enjoyed gardening, cooking, and reading, as well as playing duplicate bridge weekly for more than 40 years. A graveside service will be held on November 20, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Visalia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the
