Marilyn Hanson Marilyn Emily (Bridges) Hanson went to be with the Lord June 18, 2012, just shy of her 80th birthday. She was born July 20, 1932 in Sioux City, Iowa to Lowell Wenzel and Dorothy Cowhick. At the age of 9, Marilyn moved with her mother's family to Oxnard, California. After completing high school, Marilyn graduated from Woodbury Business College with a Bachelor's Degree. She went on to secure management positions at Quality Cadillac, Floyd Gibson Ford, Service Buick, Gene Perrachi Pontiac, Selma Auto Mall, Nielsen's Creamery, and Knudsens where she was controller of Northern California. After retirement, she volunteered full time in the genealogy department at the Tulare District Library. She was instrumental in keeping the popular department open in the new building. She was a very proud member of the Sequoia Genealogy Society, DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), and past Worthy Matron and lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her biggest passion however, was her family. She is survived by her children: Lisa Dooley (Dan), Susie Bridges, Julie Lovett, and Kenny Bridges (Tina); six grandchildren: Jessica Cross, Lindsay and Dax Lovett, Krystal Tait, Dillon Bridges, and Madison Dooley; seven great grandchildren with one on the way; and many friends. We are all going to miss you so very much mom, we love you. She was preceded in death by her husband William E. Hanson, her daughter Jennifer Bridges and her parents. A celebration of her life will be held Monday, June 25, 10:30 am at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 120 N. Hall Street, Visalia, CA. Donations may be made to the Marilyn Hanson Genealogy Scholarship Fund at West America Bank, 140 E. Tulare Ave, Tulare, CA.
