Mary "GiGi" Mello Obituary
Mary "GiGi" Mello & Grandma Cookie Mary Alice Mello was born on April 30, 1913 in New Bedford, Mass. to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bayao and passed away peacefully at the age of 99 on August 7, 2012, at her son and daughter-in-laws in San Luis Obispo. Mary married Edward Mello in 1942, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They built their first and only home in Tulare, Ca. where they raised their three sons, Gary, Richard and Raymond. She worked at Linder's Furniture Store for 17 years and was an avid member of Saint Aloysius Catholic Church and the Altar Society. There was never a time when her family and friends would come to visit that she did not greet them with her world famous chocolate chip cookies and a feast fit for a king. Mary is survived by her three sons: Gary and wife Delta, Richard and wife P.J., Raymond and wife Elvia, her six grandchildren: Margaret, Tricia and husband Gabe, Devin and wife Traci, Derick, Samantha, Clara, and her seven great-grandchildren: Anthony, Sonja, Silas, Madison, Riley, Skylar and Declan. Mary will be welcomed into heaven with loving arms by her husband of 31 years, Edward and her brother Laurie. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home, 151 North H Street, Tulare, Ca. St. Aloysius Altar Society will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012, 4:00 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, Tuesday, August 14, 2012, 11:30 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 125 East Pleasant Avenue, Tulare, Ca., with burial at Tulare District Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Miller's Tulare Funeral Home.
