Rachael Virginia Starling Rachael Virginia Starling, 90, of Tulare, Calif. died November 16, 2012, joining her late husband, Edward and daughter, Glenda in heaven. Rachael was born, Dec. 12, 1921, in Bowie, Texas, to Floyd and Letrice Stoner. She graduated from Tulare Union High School in 1939. She continued her education later in life receiving an Associate of Arts Degree from College of the Sequoias in 1978. Ed and Rachael were married in 1940. During WWII, they both worked in the Kaiser Shipyard in Richmond, CA. They both worked as welders on the construction of Liberty Ships. As the war came to a close they moved to Tipton, Calif. where they owned and operated a small farm and dairy. In 1965, the family located to Tulare where Rachael resided until her death. She enjoyed landscaping, gardening, sewing and had a great love for baseball, especially the San Francisco Giants. More than anything, Rachael loved her children. She played an active role in their lives and she will be dearly missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her son, Johnny Starling of Tulare; daughter, Jeanne Starling of CO; brothers, Clark Stoner of Tulare; Floyd Stoner of Patterson; grandsons, John Starling of San Mateo; Jeremy Barr of Los Angeles; and granddaughter, Christina Mundy (Starling) of Sacramento; and two great grand children . Funeral Services will be held at the Tulare United Methodist Church on Monday, November 26th at 10a.m. Viewing will be held at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Home, Sunday, November 25th from Noon to 8p.m. Reception will be held at the Tulare United Methodist Church in Wesely Hall, following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250-0301, would be appreciated.
