Richard Thomas Durbin Richard Thomas Durbin, 86, died peacefully at home on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Richard was born in Illinois to Linton and Ivalu Durbin. He served in the Navy in World War II in the Pacific. Richard retired from the Dept of the Interior in 1986. He worked in both forestry and with the Bureau of Reclamation completing his career supervising work on the Friant Kern canal. Richard enjoyed riding his motorcycle and camping and fishing with family and friends. He is survived by his bride of 66 years, Edna Durbin, his son Mike (wife Nancy), daughter Sharon and seven grand-children (Richard, Erik, Kristi, Brent, Alan, Sarah and Jennifer) and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Marsha, his sister Joan and brother Victor. We will all miss him-his laugh, his gentle humor and his warm affection... A celebration of his life will be held at the clubhouse at Westlake Village, 2400 W. Midvalley Rd, on Sunday, May 6th from 6 to 8 PM.
