Roberta J. Karle Roberta Karle, age 88, of Visalia went to be with her Lord on December 6, 2012. Roberta was born in Fresno California, where she graduated from Fresno High School in 1942. She subsequently earned an AA in Library Science from College of the Sequoias. Roberta worked for Pacific Telephone Company for many years before staying home to raise a family. She later went to work for Wilson Elementary School in Dinuba as a librarian and after her move to Visalia she worked as a school secretary at Conyer Elementary School. During her husband's career with Pacific Telephone, Roberta moved to many locations in California. She enjoyed these moves where she would meet new people and make many new friends. Roberta is survived by her husband, Elmer Karle. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with family and friends. She is also survived by her sister, Anita (Jim) Bolger; her daughter Kathleen (Steve) Walker; her grandchildren Jennifer (Adam) Brooks and Michael (Jade) McFadden; and one great-granddaughter. Roberta enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of several bridge groups. She liked to garden, cook wonderful meals, knit, and paint. She also found pleasure playing the piano and the organ. Her favorite quote was "Don't hurry, don't worry, and don't forget to smell the flowers." The family would like to thank Kaweah Delta Hospice and Quail Park for their care of Roberta in her final days. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 22nd at Quail Park Retirement Village, 4520 West Cypress Avenue, Visalia, California. Condolences to the family may be sent to Elmer Karle in care of Quail Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Kaweah Delta Hospice at 900 W. Oak Ave., Visalia, California 93291.
