Roger E. Miller Born near Williamsville, Illinois on August 24, 1922 he died peacefully at home in Woodlake with Hospice care on September 12, 2012 at the age of 90. Roger grew up in Illinois and attended schools there. He served his country during WWII in Alaska & the South Pacific area. Returning home he married Norma Gulso at Mt. Pulaski, Illinois on March 2, 1947. They moved to the Artesia, CA area where he owned and operated Miller Welding for 40 years. They moved to Woodlake, CA in 1991 where he continued welding and working his olive orchard & enjoying coffee with friends. Norma passed away October 17, 1999. Roger was an active member of the American Legion post 94, Exeter. Survivors include his daughter Mary Hanson & husband Terry, three grandchildren David Hanson, Amy Van Zee, and Kristen Kenney as well as three great grandchildren. His daughter Sandra predeceased him. Visitation Friday, September 14, 2012, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Smith Family Chapel, Exeter. Service Saturday, September 15th, 11 a.m. Smith Family Chapel, Exeter.
