I did not know Scott Nelson, but I do know several people who did know him and while they are all very very different they all agree he was an amazing father, boyfriend, friend, son, brother, and teacher. For someone to have touched so many people in such a positive way in his short life he must have been an amazing person and I am very sorry I never knew him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. May God be with you in your darkest hour.

Such a disappointing situation to have to bare when we loose such good people in this world. If only we could set back time. Big nelson was an inspiration to all us mt. whitney kids in many ways. He was the glue that kept us together. Having him teach me two years was an honor and really he was the one who got me through math and on to graduation. He always had a way to teach u when you didn't understand something and for that i am grateful have had that opportunity to get to know him. As a fellow cyclist/runner we will always remember scott for his dedication and hard work he put into everything he did in his life. This last run is for u buddy! We will miss you big guy!

We were priviledged to have known Scott and have him in our home many times in years past. He was always polite and pleasant and fun to have around. We played many games and we all laughed and enjoyed his good company. He was a good friend to our son Jason and a pleasure to be around. He grew up to be an excellant man and great example to all who were blest to know him. We will miss you Scott but will treasure the good memories of a life well lived.

I will never forget your big bright smile, it could light up a room. You were kind, smart, sweet all rapped into one. Everytime I hear "Name" by Goo Goo Dolls I still think of you. You played that song over and over. I still can't believe your really gone. I can still see you driving around town in your Green Toyota Camery. You took me to see Starship Troopers and I really didn't care for the movie but, your company made it worth it. I'am very sad that your gone but, never forgotten. My condolences to your family.

You were more than a good teacher and friend. You pushed me, and though I didn't like it then, it has changed who I am now. I don't think I'll ever understand why you were taken when you had so much left to do, but I can only say thank you to God for letting us know you for the short while we had. Your sense of humor and wide smile will stay with me always. Thank you Big Nelson. My prayers are with your family and friends.
