Socorro Esparza Moreno The Holy Rosary will be prayed and Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Friday, March 1 at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Dinuba for Socorro Esparza Moreno, 80 of Cutler, who passed away February 22, 2013. The Reverend Raul Diaz will officiate and interment will follow at Smith Mountain Cemetery. Socorro was born February 29, 1932 in El Paso, Texas to Bulmaro and Josefa Esparza and then at the age of 5, came to California and to Cutler with her family where she was raised and attended local schools. She married Oswald C. Moreno, Jr. in Cutler August 2, 1958 and the Moreno family made Cutler their home. She worked as a teacher's aide for many years and lastly as a yard surpervisor. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Socorro enjoyed cooking, reading, dancing, music and talking with her friends. She loved being a mom and grandmother and loved being with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Guadalupana's Society and was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. Socorro was preceded in death by her husband Oswald Moreno; two daughters Veronica Moreno Vaca and Lupe Moreno Gonzalez; a son Robert Moreno as well as four brothers and one sister. She is survived by her children Gerard Moreno (Susie); Fabian Moreno (Vianey) and Florence Moreno all of Visalia; a sister Elisa Aguilera of Reedley and 10 grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 am until service time. Webb Sanders Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
