Thomas Hernandez Thomas "Tom" Rivera Hernandez was born December 16, 1936 in Tulare, California. He passed away April 6, 2013 at the age of 76. Thomas loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, something he began doing as a young boy with his parents and brother. He continued on the tradition with his own sons and eventually even started going deep sea fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children, taking them camping and showing them the rough and pioneering ways of the past. Many happy times were also spent searching for seashells in the Kettleman Hills where he taught his children that the ocean had come clear to that place. Thomas also enjoyed hunting with a bow and arrow and later in life vacationing in his 5th wheel, traveling to Canada and later heading to New Mexico. His next hobby became KENO. Survivors include his loving wife Mary L. Hernandez of Tulare; three sons Albert Hernandez of Fresno, Librado "Leo" Hernandez of Riverside and Jacob Hernandez of Tulare; two sisters Linda Lopez of Goshen and Mary Hernandez of Visalia; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson Tony Flores, his daughter Pauline Hernandez Flores and his brother Vincent Hernandez.
