Vernetta Geraldine Smith Vernetta passed away March 11, 2012 in Visalia, CA at the age of 84. She was born in Marmaduke, Arkansas on July 1, 1927 to Charles & Opal Moody. She married Clyde C. Smith in Visalia on January 21, 1945. Clyde was in the Navy when they married. Vernetta kept the home fires burning throughout WW II. Vernetta was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Moody & Opal Moody, as well as her brother Charles Moody & her husband Clyde C. Smith. She is survived by her daughter Marcia G. Milham & husband Stan of Exeter. Vernetta's son Kim Roger Smith of San Francisco, her grandson Ryan Lee Smith and wife Jenifer Marie and three great grandchildren, Hailey, Zoe, and Abigail Smith of Quebec Canada. Also, her sister Velma Anderson of Visalia, Brother Hollis Moody of Wonder Valley, and her brother Wallace Moody, Visalia. Vernetta, worked as a bookkeeper at various companies in Visalia ending her career working side by side with her husband at County Line Gin in Hanford. Vernetta was a very family oriented mother; she enjoyed music, was an avid water skier and took many vacations with her extended family. In her retirement she became an insatiable golfer. Vernetta also enjoyed attending the Exeter Church of Christ.
